In case you've somehow missed it, Sony has announced a huge overhaul to PlayStation Plus. It's transitioning to a multi-tiered system, with three subscriptions offering extra value the more you choose to pay. At the top of the pile is PS Plus Premium which, among other things, adds games from legacy PlayStation platforms to the mix.
Yes, PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP games will be finally coming to modern platforms for subscribers to PS Plus Premium. All but the PS3 games will be available to both download or stream, while titles for Sony's tricksy seventh-gen machine will be streamable only.
It's unclear whether these classic games will be available to purchase individually for those who do not subscribe to PS Plus Premium, but we imagine that they will be exclusive to the subscription model, similar to how Nintendo's online service grants access to legacy titles.
PS Plus Premium costs $119.99 / €119.99 / £99.99 for a 12-month subscription, and gives you access to this library of retro games. This is in addition to all the other benefits from the PS Plus Essential and PS Plus Extra tiers. You can read more about each tier and how they differ through here.
