“Accessibility Tags roll out this week on PlayStation Store on the PS5 console. As we strive to make gaming more accessible for all players, today we’re excited to announce that Accessibility Tags are rolling out globally this week on PlayStation Store on the PS5 console. Accessibility Tags allow game developers to provide detailed insight on accessibility features supported in their games. As you browse various game hubs on PlayStation Store game hubs on PS5, you’ll see a list of accessibility features by pressing the “Triangle” button if the game you select supports Accessibility Tags. These can range from visual and audio accessibility settings to DualSense controller options, difficulty settings, and online communication features like chat transcription.”

From Forbes

“Sony Is Still Seriously Trying To Argue Microsoft May Sabotage ‘Call Of Duty’ On PlayStation. Of the many arguments against Microsoft’s acquisition of Call of Duty, one that Sony is pushing hard lately in the wake of things turning against its case is something akin to an accusation of…potential corporate espionage.

The UK’s CMA recently changed its tune about the deal in the wake of Microsoft offering long-term deals to places like Nintendo and other cloud service to run Call of Duty, and PlayStation has once again turned to this idea that a “danger” of Microsoft’s acquisition of the IP is that they could release a “degraded” version of the game on PlayStation.”

From Kotaku

“Sony May Add Temperature Feature To PlayStation Controllers. Sony has shown us some fascinating alternative controllers for the PlayStation 5, and one possible version is still at the patent stage. A recently published patent document suggests Sony might be currently experimenting with haptic technology that would allow part of your controller to change shape or temperature depending on the gameplay.

The patent, originally spotted by gaming website Exputer, details how the technology would work if it ever came to be. The controller would feature a more pliable “elastic member.” While controllers as they exist today are hard plastic that isn’t malleable, the elastic member could actually change shape. And though that hard plastic body hasn’t changed over the decades, controllers have gotten more advanced, adding details like haptic features that are present in the current DualSense controller that comes with each PS5.”

From Toms Guide

“New PlayStation handheld may have leaked — and it sounds promising but pointless. PlayStation is reportedly preparing to re-enter the portable gaming market with a new handheld device, according to an exclusive scoop from Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming.

The industry insider claims that the next PlayStation handheld is in active development and codenamed the Q Lite. His latest report states that the device will not be a standalone piece of hardware but will instead require a PS5 to function, similar to the recently released PSVR 2 headset.”
