Episode Notes:
1. Captured on real hardware via RGB.
2. The standalone gameplay segment at the end of Rayman is from the Jaguar version. I used it here because I had video from a lot further along in that version.
3. I used the arcade Tekken in this because I wanted to show you that the two are virtually identical visually. I assume most of you remember how the PS version looks. The home version did have extra content.
4. From the outset it was clear that the PlayStation was no slouch when it came to 2D visuals. There are things on the Saturn I feel the PS could not have pulled off, but it was still capable of some pretty impressive results.
5. Though I am a Sega fan at heart, I have no issue telling you like it is. Sony trounced Sega in the West. It was not a fight. It was an ass-kicking of prolific proportions. Sega did just about everything wrong they could have.
6. Sony's MK3 exclusivity only related to that original release. That's why the Saturn received Ultimate MK3 and MK Trilogy a while later.
7. The fact there was no Madden or Sega made NFL option for the Saturn in 1995 is one of the reasons I believe Sega lost so badly in the US. Had Sega a full professional lineup of sports titles ready to go in those first few months, I feel the Saturn would have sold much better.
