What's the first Xbox game to release on a non-Xbox system? Well, from Solitaire to Monster Trucks to Banjo-Kazooie, Microsoft released 3 games for the Game Boy Color and 6 for the Game Boy Advance - all AFTER officially announcing its entrance into the console wars with the Xbox. Microsoft even co-published an N64 game with Rockstar in 1999! However, depending on how you want to count things - depending on if you count Rare's GBA games as "true" Xbox games since they were in production before Microsoft purchased the company - the first Xbox game to release outside of the Xbox brand dropped in 2003 on the GBA...and it's from a game series more associated with PlayStation than Xbox. Join me today on this trek through some of the earliest and most fascinating days in Xbox's history, for the earliest origins of Xbox telling you to Play Anywhere!
