The Microsoft Activision Blizzard deal has been approved in Japan as Japan is also going to be looking into the business practices at PlayStation. As you know, PlayStation has been lobbying in Washington to block the Xbox Activision merger and it would now seem that Microsoft may have pointed out to senators that Sony is engaging in some practices that make it difficult for them to compete in the Japanese market. This may seem like it goes nowhere, but because of US and Japan agreements on competition at the very least this will be a thorn in Sony's side that they have to deal with as the Call of Duty deal goes through. Jim Ryan has been pushing back against this and now it may have blown up in his face. This is huge Xbox news today and PlayStation news today as it could have an impact on both companies for years to come.
