“Next Wave Of Xbox Game Pass Titles Announced. Microsoft has announced the next wave of additions to the Xbox Game Pass catalog, and they include multiple day-one new releases, one of which is out today, February 21. The FPS Atomic Heart is out now on console, cloud, and PC. Also coming this month is Merge & Blade for console, cloud, and PC--it hits Game Pass on February 28. Merge & Blade is a fantasy puzzle auto-battler game with the tagline, "Only your brain can save the world!" Soul Hackers 2 comes to Game Pass on February 28 for console, cloud, and PC. Looking beyond February, EA's racing game F1 22 comes to Game Pass for PC Game Pass and Ultimate subscribers on March 2. Finally, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, an action-oriented dark fantasy game, comes to Game Pass as a day-one new release on March 3 for console, cloud, and PC. Xbox Game Pass is losing a number of additional titles this month, too, including Alien: Isolation, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Madden NFL 21, and Octopath Traveler; they all leave the catalog on February 28.”

“The Xbox Game Pass Friends & Family plan is expanding to six new countries. The service is now live in New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, Hungary, Israel, and Sweden. There’s no word on when it’ll hit other regions like the US, though. Microsoft is expanding the availability of its Friends & Family plan for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to six additional countries following its initial pilot in Ireland and Columbia last year."

“Nvidia supports Microsoft, Activision merger after Xbox deal to add games to cloud service. Microsoft said Tuesday it will bring its Xbox PC games to Nvidia’s cloud gaming service, after the chipmaker had reportedly expressed opposition to a major Microsoft gaming deal. The announcement comes after Microsoft President Brad Smith met with European Union officials on Tuesday in a bid to convince them that its planned $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard will be good for competition.”

“Xbox Says 'Carving Up' Activision Blizzard 'Isn't Realistic’. Smith also responded to a question regarding selling the Call of Duty brand to push the Activision Blizzard deal to the finish line, saying, "We don't think it's realistic that one part of this company can be carved out from the rest". This question comes after a report from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority earlier this month saying Microsoft could concede Call of Duty in favor of keeping moneymakers like King's Candy Crush. Activision Blizzard, meanwhile, accused Sony of trying to "protect its two-decade dominance in video games", arguing that the merger will "create greater opportunities" for workers while enhancing competition. In a similar vein, Smith once again tried to demonstrate Sony's dominance, laying out the numbers in the European market.”
