Hello and welcome back to Game Domain! Today we are going to be covering a topic that is at the center of everybody’s minds as we move into the 2025 world of gaming - the Nintendo Switch 2. Will it be called the Switch 2? Is there a new and innovative name that Nintendo has up its sleeve? How much better and more powerful will this console be? Will we finally get a Pokemon game with good graphics?
These are all questions everybody is asking...well maybe the last one is just some diehard Pokemon fans pissed off about how grainy every Switch title has be-BUT ANYWAY...when should we expect the Switch 2? We here at Game Domain are making a hot prediction - calling our shot that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be released in May, marking 8 years and 2 months since the launch of the Nintendo Switch back in 2017. Wow, that sure makes us feel old. We all know that the Nintendo Switch 2’s announcement and launch date reveal is imminent, but we think it may be even closer than people anticipate.
While a fall launch would line up more with the nature of other major console releases - usually when Microsoft and SONY release their new Xbox and PlayStation consoles respectively - Nintendo did shake things up a bit with the release of the Switch. Both the Wii and WiiU were launched in November, but Nintendo releasing the Switch in March of 2017 and seeing so much sales success throughout the year opened the path for other months to be a great release time. The fall is flooded with new games, movies, toys, and other merchandise trying to get the headlines during the holiday season.
