From Pure Xbox

“Microsoft Teases Xbox Spring Sale 2023, Now Confirmed For This Week. As you can see, we don't really know much about the games side of things so far aside from Sonic Frontiers, Jurassic World Evolution 2 and Forza Horizon 5, but we do at least know that the digital sale will end on April 20th, so we'll have around two weeks to take advantage. We're expecting around 500 games to be discounted.

It's also worth noting that some of the figures that are mentioned are likely incorrect. We normally get discounts of up to 90% during these sales rather than the 60% percentage that's quoted, and the Xbox controller discounts that are already live on the Microsoft Store allow for savings of up to $20 rather than $10 as listed.”

Xbox Unveils New 'Daily Achievement' Xbox Game Pass Quest

Last week, it was revealed that Xbox would be making a big change to the "Achieve More, Earn More" Microsoft Rewards punch card, and now that change has taken place - it's been turned into a new daily Xbox Game Pass Quest.

As expected, this new Quest is for 50 points per-day, and challenges you to complete one achievement from any game in the Xbox Game Pass library. Unlike last time, this will also pop automatically as soon as you've completed it.

Microsoft Blocks Access To 'Retail Mode' Emulators On Xbox Series X|S

It's very much an open secret that the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S have the potential to be fantastic emulation machines, but for obvious reasons, Microsoft isn't eager to tell the world about it. Nevertheless, plenty of people have been taking advantage of these capabilities over the past few years.

There are two ways you can access emulators on these consoles, and one of them is simply through the standard Retail Mode. However, as of this week, it looks like Microsoft has put a total stop to this method

The other method, which involves signing up as a developer and paying a license fee, does appear to still be working for the time being, although obviously taking advantage of this is something you should only do at your own risk.”

From Windows Central

“Square Enix once again snubs Xbox for a major upcoming game launch. Final Fantasy I through IV are available almost literally everywhere but Xbox. Today, Square Enix announced that the Final Fantasy Pixel Remaster Collection will finally come to consoles. All consoles except Xbox, that is. On April 19th, fans on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 and 5 will be able to pick up the entire collection of classic RPGs, in all their train-suplexing glory. This announcement makes Xbox quite literally the only place you cannot play these games. You can buy them on PC, you can buy them on Android, and iPad, and to add insult to injury, they're even available on Amazon's Fire tablet app store. RIP. “
