Bit late to the party, but better late than never.
I've ordered and unpacked two packages:
- Stadia Controller
- Stadia Premier Edition
In both case, its the same controller, with a difference of having Chromecast Ultra included and different colors on the stick bases. There was the all known lag once in a while and Chromecast didn't want to connect over the WiFi, so I had to hardwire it. Additionally, with all the small connection settings, it took me well over 40 mins to get it going, while the experience really should have been seamless with the set up.The free games that come with the package were nothing either, in my opinion. Could have done something with one of the Fall 2019 games. Plus the subscription will cost me around $12CAD per month, for that same cost I can get Xbox Game Pass with a full library of free games I can play, and a lot of them are recent and new games. The games that are available now in the library are bit overpriced in certain cases too, for example, Assassin Odyssey, I could get the game for about $20CAD on Xbox or PS4, while Stadia Store has it for $40.
Other than that, the concept is great and it would make an awesome Christmas present, too bad there was no Black Friday deal, but I guess this is the reason why they released it on 19th of November. I am thinking whether I should keep it or return it...🤔
